10 months

We've really been enjoying walks lately. Britta loves riding in the stroller and looking around checking everything out. She always wants to be in the know, and will crane her head to look at whatever catches her interest. A nice way of putting it would be curious, however I lovingly call it being nosy!

Britta sure loves her daddy and will wiggle and reach out for him as soon as he walks through the door after work.

She sent me flowers for Mother's Day!

A new discovery - toilet paper!

Window shopping downtown Starkville on a sunny day!

Britt Britt's first time in a swimsuit - adorable!

There's never too many sleeping baby pictures. So so sweet.

Britta loves everyone who takes care of her at daycare! She had to say "see you in the Fall" though since we get to stay home together this summer. The perks of being a teacher are really BIG PERKS now!

Britt's first ride sitting up in a shopping cart. She loves shopping for the same reasons she loves walks. There is so much to see and hear.

We took some photos outside and I am so happy with how they turned out! We had to turn in a close up of her face for a charity pageant we participated in. (That's something I never thought I'd hear myself say!) I definitely had to step outside of my comfort zone walking her up on stage, but we made the best of it and had a good time! Britta even came home the winner of "best smile".

She is just so happy (almost) all the time! It makes my heart fill up!

Grandpa Tony came to visit and got some quality time with us!

Check out that mouth! She is OUT! Play hard, sleep hard.

Britta loves to hang out on the front porch. She pulls weeds out, studies the rocks, and crawls all over. Tessa is her buddy, and watches over her too. She has also learned how to wave hello, and we are working on clapping. She will clap if I do hand over hand assistance, and then when I take my hands off she'll keep going with it. Next up - blowing kisses!

The best sound in the world is this little girl's laugh!

Bath time is one of her favorite times of the day! She loves to splash in the water, and chew on her rubber bath toys. Her teeth are really trying to work their way in I think, so anything that can go in her mouth, does go in her mouth! We really have to watch her. So far, she has 3 teeth. 2 on bottom and 1 on top. She loves to run her tongue over them and of course we think it's just the cutest thing!

A few other things: Britta loves to blow her lips/blow raspberries on her own hand, on our arms, or on our legs. I don't know if it's because we do it to her so much, or because she just likes the feel of it on her lips. So fun! She also does this new thing where she crawls really fast, pants, and then will sprawl out on the floor with her legs flat. It is pretty comical to watch. She loves to climb on top of things like the ottoman, a plastic storage tub we have, and over the desk frame that is just her height. When she is sleepy she still sucks her thumb, and loves to hold my hair in her fist. Her hair is getting long enough now though that she has also started to hold onto her own while she sucks. Although Tessa is her buddy, they love to pick on each other. When Tessa has a toy, Britta will crawl over and take it right out from under her. Tessa will wait for an opportune moment, and then take it back. This goes on until Britta gets upset and comes crawling to me! One last thing, she has started to sing to herself, especially if she hears me signing. She'll imitate the sing songy noises and just gets the biggest kick out of herself doing it. We sure do love this little one!

Spring Break and Easter - 8 months old

Each month seems to bring more and more fun and excitement. We made a trip to Illinois over spring break, and we have celebrated Easter this month. Britta Grace just soaks it all in, and is happy doing whatever we do! Gosh, we love this little girl!

These are some of my favorite faces. She was so thrilled to lay out in the sun for a few minutes on one of our first warm days this spring. She also got to get behind the wheel of daddy's car - Vroom vroom!

A stop at Maplecrest is always important when we are back in Illinois. Watching Great Grandma and Grandpa Zierke love on Britta is something we treasure. All of the residents at Maplecrest LOVE babies!

Of course quality time with our godson Jackson is a highlight! Seeing Britta get to know her cousin and Auntie Abby and Uncie Ben is just the BEST!

These two photos crack me up! Dad knows Jackson is going to pull Britta's hair, but just watches and laughs! Mom's reaction is priceless too!

We can't wait to meet the newest Rohde!

After a few days in Belivdere, we traveled on to Arlington Heights. It was great to see friends, and spend quality time with family! Britta even got to meet her Great Auntie Nancy from Japan!

While we were in Illinois Britta crawled forward for the first time! It was special to share that with everyone. Since then, she has been crawling all over the house, and pulling up to stand on anything that is at her height level. She still loves to suck her thumb, and she loves to babble. She says "da da" all the time!
